Definitions

Total Trucks In Fleet
Number of trucks you own or lease that normally have to stop for inspection at weigh stations.

Average Monthly Bypasses (For All Trucks)
Number of PrePass weigh stations your trucks will likely bypass in a month's time (average is about 12 bypasses per month).

Average Fuel Cost (Price Per Gallon)
The average retail cost of diesel, per gallon, that you pay when filling up your trucks.

Time Savings
Estimated time saved per month with PrePass. Value is based on an IA State University Center for Transportation Research and Education study which showed an average time savings per bypass of approximately 5 minutes.

Fuel Savings
Estimated diesel fuel saved per month with PrePass. Value is based on an IA State University Center for Transportation Research and Education study which showed savings up to 0.4 of a gallon of fuel with each successful bypass.

Operating Cost Savings
Estimated vehicle operating costs saved per month with PrePass. Operating costs include but are not limited to: vehicle maintenance, driver's wages, administrative costs, insurance. Value is based on an Oct. 2007 FMCSA study (Economic Analysis and Business Case for Motor Carrier Industry Support of CVISN) which showed operating cost savings to be approximately $8.68 per bypass.
